Heppington Vineyard | English Wines

Veraison

The Pinot Noir is welcoming the September sun and beginning to show the first signs of veraison, where the red grapes develop their colour. We're hoping for continued warmth ahead of the late October harvest.

Here we go

Flowering has begun, marking the countdown to harvest—approximately 100 days away! We are crossing our fingers for continued warm weather as the crop looks very promising this year.

Floral display

The wild flower meadow is in bloom! With the cold spring wind now gone, the vineyard has perfect growing conditions for what is shaping up to be a bumper crop of grapes this season.

Heppington's 2021 Chardonnay wins Silver at the IEWA awards

Our 2021 Chardonnay has earned a prestigious Silver medal at the IEWA awards, showcasing its English elegance with French oak-aged complexity. Bursting with orchard fruit, peach, and zesty grapefruit, it’s perfect for summer dining, especially with local white fish. Independent reviews praise its crisp acidity, mineral structure, and subtle complexity, making it a standout English Chardonnay. Pair it with our Sparkling Rosé for a celebratory touch.

Racing along

The vines are racing along! After a slow start, sunshine has encouraged the buds to burst into leaf. Next up: bud rubbing to improve the potential of the remaining growth.

Bud burst

The vines have finally broken through after a cold, wet spring! Next week promises more seasonal weather, allowing the vineyard to start catching up for what should still be a great harvest.
