Heppington's 2021 Chardonnay wins Silver at the IEWA awards
Jun 06, 2023
We were delighted to see our 2021 Chardonnay was given the seal of approval at the IEWA awards this year with a prestigious Silver medal.
Aged in French oak barrels here in Canterbury, this is a real English eccentric with strong European influences.
It’s palate of orchard fruit, crunchy peach and zesty grapefruit makes it the perfect bottle this summer - ideally paired with a local white fish, ideally fried, barbecued or poached.
And it's not just the professionals that are enjoying it , check out some recent independent reviews :
'Very pleasant Chardonnay. Lots of high end notes as one would expect from a marginal climate but not without some texture and subtle complexity'

'a clean, crisp white with a fine line of mineral acidity creating a fine structure for the green apple and lemon fruit to follow '
Corkk Wine, Kent
'This Chardonnay is very pale, with a nose of apple and wet stone. There is a delicate thread of hazelnut and spice from some French oak. The palate is tense and mineral, quite lean, high acidity and 12.2% ABV. Green apple and citrus peel. Pleasant, in a Chablis-like style'
