Veraison

We are expecting 2025 to go down as one of the outstanding vintages for English wine. But it's looking as if 2026 will provide strong competition.
The best way of telling how the grapes are coming along is to see when the reds start to get their colour - known as 'veraison' - and means that harvest will be between 40 and 50 days away. As can be seen in the picture, our Pinot Noir is well on the way to ripeness, so whereas we normally harvest mid October, we could be 2 weeks earlier this year. This exceptionally hot summer has had its challenges, but the vines have loved it!
